2013 Theme: Treasured Possession

"The Lord your God has chosen you out of all the peoples on the face of the earth to be His people, His treasured possession."    Deuteronomy 7:6

"A Treasured Possession" - Each one of us has something that we treasure very highly. It may be a piece of glassware, a piece of jewelry, some pottery, a picture, a letter, or even a person or friend. We are sure to take good care of it. We keep it polished and clean. it is put in a special place in our home. It means so much to us and we treasure it. We would not want it to be broken or destroyed in any way.

In the Old Testament, the Israelites were God's chosen people and a treasured possession. Like Israel, all who have a relationship with Jesus today are His treasured possession. In I Peter 2:9 we are told we are a "chosen people, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of Him, who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light."

You are a "treasured possession" to the Lord. He has made you unique and no other like you. Through the years He molds each one of us into His image by putting us through the fire of many trials. the beauty of it is that He will never destroy us, but will make a home for us in eternity with Him. You are His "treasured possession"!
